Mark Rhein
Mark, a Wheeling, IL native came over to Murray and Trettel in 1996 as a weather forecaster when Murray and Trettel bought Central Weather Service. Mark has helped anchor the nightshift since arriving at Murray and Trettel. In addition, Mark earned a CIS certificate at Harper College and has become part of the IT team at Murray and Trettel.
Mark was intensely interested in weather forecasting at a very early age and began working in the field of weather at Central Weather Service in Wheeling, while still in high school. Central Weather Service was a competitor private weather company owned and operated by former long-time local broadcast meteorologist Earl S. Finckle.
Mark graduated from Wheeling High School in 1976 and was offered a full-time position at Central Weather Service. Under Earl’s tutelage, Mark learned the fine points of forecasting the weather and was promoted to staff meteorologist at Central Weather Service in 1988.
Mark married his wife Christine in 1988 and has two girls who have finished college and are embarking on careers. Mark spends his off time being a family man and enjoys following the Blackhawks and finding time to go fishing.
